SNAI Election – 2024

The Student Nurses' Association of India (SNAI) Election 2025 was conducted at the Vignesh Nursing College Auditorium on 24 October 2024 to elect the student office bearers and committee members for the 2025 academic year. The programme began with an introduction to the history, objectives, and significance of SNAI, along with an overview of the roles and responsibilities of its various committees.

Students from B.Sc. Nursing II Year and III Year with leadership qualities actively participated in the election. The nominees introduced themselves, presented their ideas, and campaigned for positions including Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, and various committee representatives before the student community.

The election was conducted through a democratic ballot system, allowing students to cast their votes and elect their representatives. The event encouraged leadership, responsibility, teamwork, and active student participation while strengthening the spirit of professionalism and service among future nursing professionals.

SNAI Board Meeting – 2024

The Student Nurses' Association of India (SNAI) Board Meeting 2025 was held at the Vignesh Nursing College Auditorium on 25 October 2024. The programme commenced with a welcome address, followed by presentations highlighting the initiatives, achievements,and activities carried out by the various SNAI committees during the previous term.

During the meeting, the results of the SNAI Election 2025 were officially announced, and the newly elected office bearers and committee members were introduced. Representatives from each committee shared their future plans and responsibilities aimed at promoting student leadership, professional development, and active participation.

A formal handover ceremony was conducted in which the outgoing office bearers transferred their responsibilities and badges to the newly elected representatives. The event symbolized a smooth transition of leadership and encouraged the new team to serve with dedication, responsibility, and commitment to the objectives of the Student Nurses' Association of India.

World Stroke Day – 2024

World Stroke Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm at Vignesh Nursing College on 29 October 2024 to raise awareness about stroke prevention, early recognition, and timely intervention. The programme emphasized the importance of adopting a healthy lifestyle and taking quick action during stroke emergencies.

As part of the celebration, B.Sc. Nursing III Year students prepared informative awareness handouts covering the definition, types, causes, signs and symptoms, first aid management, and preventive measures for stroke. They also designed creative posters highlighting stroke prevention and the importance of rapid response during emergencies.

An educational lecture on World Stroke Day was delivered by the B.Sc. Nursing III Year students for the B.Sc. Nursing I Semester and III Semester students. The session enhanced awareness about stroke management and encouraged future nurses to promote public education and preventive healthcare in the community.

World Radiology Day – 2024

World Radiology Day was observed on 8 November 2024 to recognize the significant contribution of radiographers and radiology professionals in modern healthcare. The programme aimed to increase awareness about the importance of radiological investigations in the early diagnosis and effective treatment of various medical conditions.

As part of the observance, B.Sc. Nursing III Year students prepared informative posters highlighting the uses of radiological studies, their role in patient care, and the possible adverse effects of radiation on human health. The posters emphasized the importance of safe and responsible use of radiological procedures.

The awareness programme was conducted at Scudder College of Nursing, Ranipet, where students actively participated in promoting knowledge about radiology and encouraging the adoption of safe healthcare practices among future nursing professionals.

World Diabetes Day – 2024

World Diabetes Day was celebrated on 14 November 2024 at the Vignesh Nursing College Auditorium to raise awareness about diabetes prevention, early diagnosis, and effective disease management. The programme aimed to educate students and the public on adopting healthy lifestyles to reduce the risk of diabetes and its complications.

As part of the celebration, B.Sc. Nursing III Year students organized an informative exhibition under the guidance of the SNA Advisor. The exhibition featured healthy food stalls, educational posters on diabetes mellitus, motivational quotations, a video presentation on diabetes awareness, and a Body Mass Index (BMI) assessment stall to promote preventive healthcare and healthy living.

On the same day, B.Sc. Nursing IV Year students conducted a diabetes awareness programme at the Government Tiruvannamalai Medical College and Hospital, Tiruvannamalai. Through educational posters and interactive health education sessions, they created awareness about the causes, types, clinical features, prevention, and management of diabetes mellitus, encouraging the community to adopt healthier lifestyles and seek early medical care.

Cancer Awareness Month – 2024

Cancer Awareness Month was observed on 15 November 2024 at the Government Tiruvannamalai Medical College and Hospital, Tiruvannamalai to create awareness among patients about cancer prevention, early detection, and treatment. The programme was conducted by B.Sc. Nursing IV Year students from 9:30 AM to 11:30 AM with the aim of educating the public about important aspects of cancer care.

The students presented informative posters covering the introduction to cancer, warning signs, importance of early diagnosis, available treatment options including cancer therapies, and preventive measures. The awareness session helped patients understand the importance of regular health check-ups and early medical intervention.

To make the programme more engaging and effective, B.Sc. Nursing IV Year students performed a skit depicting the occurrence, prevention, and treatment of cancer among the patients. The activity enhanced understanding of cancer-related health information and promoted awareness about adopting preventive healthcare practices.

World Epilepsy Day – 2024

World Epilepsy Day was celebrated at the Vignesh Nursing College Auditorium on 18 November 2024 at 2:00 PM to create awareness about epilepsy, its causes, risk factors, and effective management. The programme aimed to educate students and promote better understanding of epilepsy-related health challenges.

The event commenced with a prayer song and welcome address delivered by a B.Sc. Nursing V Semester student. The programme included an informative session on the definition, causes, and risk factors of epilepsy, followed by a skit highlighting the differences between proper and improper management of epilepsy.

Various interactive activities, including a game on identifying the signs and symptoms of epilepsy and a statement-based awareness activity, were conducted. A ramp walk by B.Sc. Nursing V Semester boys presented an overall view of epilepsy awareness. The event concluded with the national anthem, leaving students with valuable knowledge about epilepsy care and support.

Newborn Care Week – 2024

Newborn Care Week was observed on 21 November 2024 at the Government Tiruvannamalai Medical College and Hospital, Tiruvannamalai by the B.Sc. Nursing IV Year students to promote awareness about newborn health, care, and management. The programme focused on educating mothers and caregivers about the importance of proper newborn care practices.

The students presented informative posters covering newborn care, management techniques, and various diseases associated with newborns. The awareness activity helped mothers understand the importance of early identification of health issues and the need for appropriate newborn healthcare.

Health education sessions were also provided to mothers regarding essential home care practices for newborns, including hygiene, safety, and preventive measures. The programme enhanced maternal awareness and encouraged healthy newborn care practices in the community.

Hasta La Vista Party – 2024

The Hasta La Vista Party was celebrated on 27 November 2024 at the Vignesh Nursing College Auditorium as a farewell event organized by the students of M.Sc. Nursing I Year, P.B.B.Sc. Nursing I Year, and B.Sc. Nursing III Year for the outgoing students of M.Sc. Nursing II Year, P.B.B.Sc. Nursing II Year, and B.Sc. Nursing IV Year.

The celebration was filled with joyful moments, love, and affection as juniors expressed their gratitude and best wishes to their seniors. The event included exciting games, entertainment activities, and memorable gifts presented by the juniors, creating a wonderful atmosphere of friendship and togetherness.

The programme concluded with a grand fiesta attended by students and faculty members, leaving everyone with cherished memories and celebrating the strong bonds built during their academic journey at Vignesh Nursing College.

Thanks Giving Party – 2024

A Thanks Giving Party was organized on 30 November 2024 at the Vignesh Nursing College Auditorium by the senior students of M.Sc. Nursing, P.B.B.Sc. Nursing, and B.Sc. Nursing to express their gratitude and appreciation towards the faculty members and staff.

The event created beautiful memories filled with joy, appreciation, and togetherness. The programme featured mesmerizing dance performances, musical presentations, and the distribution of memorable gifts to the contributing staff members as a token of respect and gratitude.

The celebration concluded with a heartwarming meal shared among students, faculty, and staff, making the occasion a memorable and meaningful experience for everyone present.

HIV/AIDS Day – 2024

HIV/AIDS Day was observed at Vignesh Nursing College on 5 December 2024 to create awareness about HIV prevention, management, and the importance of protecting individual health rights. The programme aimed to educate students and the community about the causes, transmission, and prevention of HIV infection.

As part of the awareness programme, B.Sc. Nursing III Year students prepared informative posters highlighting the spread of the HIV virus, available management strategies, and preventive measures. The students actively participated in creating awareness through educational displays and health messages.

The students also distributed pamphlets related to HIV/AIDS prevention, encouraging people to follow safe health practices and promoting awareness about early diagnosis, proper management, and prevention of HIV infection.

Freshers Day Celebration – 2024

The Freshers Day Celebration was conducted on 21 December 2024 at the Vignesh Nursing College Auditorium to warmly welcome the new batch of students and provide them with a memorable beginning to their academic journey. The programme commenced with the gracious presence of the chief guests, including Mr. R. Kuppusamy, Chairman of Vignesh Nursing College, Dr. S. Vijayalakshmi, Principal of Vignesh Nursing College, and Dr. V. Poovaragavan, Vice Principal of Vignesh Nursing College.

Various cultural programmes were organized by the students of M.Sc. Nursing II Year, P.B.B.Sc. Nursing II Year, and B.Sc. Nursing II Year, featuring dazzling dance performances and musical presentations. The event created an atmosphere of excitement, friendship, and enthusiasm among the students.

The celebration began with excitement and anticipation as students welcomed Santa Claus and the festive activities. The programme started with greetings to the Principal and the distribution of gifts, spreading happiness and joy among everyone.

The Lamp Lighting Ceremony was conducted on 27 December 2024 at Vignesh Nursing College to mark an important milestone in the journey of nursing students. The ceremony began with a warm welcome to the esteemed guests, including Mr. R. Kuppusamy, Chairman of Vignesh Nursing College, Dr. S. Vijayalakshmi, Principal of Vignesh Nursing College, and Dr. V. Poovaragavan, Vice Principal of Vignesh Nursing College.
