An educational visit to the TTK Addiction Center was organized on 26 December 2025 to provide practical exposure and enhance the knowledge of nursing students regarding addiction treatment and rehabilitation services. The visit was arranged for the students of B.Sc. Nursing V Semester as part of their academic learning experience.

During the visit, students gained insights into the functioning of the addiction treatment centre, various approaches used in addiction management, and the role of healthcare professionals in supporting individuals during recovery.

The educational visit helped students understand the importance of compassionate care, patient support, and rehabilitation strategies in addiction management while strengthening their practical knowledge and professional skills in mental health nursing.

An educational visit to the Banyan Old Age Home was organized on 27 December 2025 to provide practical exposure and enhance the understanding of nursing students regarding elderly care and geriatric healthcare needs. The visit was arranged for the students of B.Sc. Nursing V Semester as a part of their academic learning experience.with excitement and anticipation as students welcomed Santa Claus and the festive activities. The programme started with greetings to the Principal and the distribution of gifts, spreading happiness and joy among everyone.

During the visit, students interacted with elderly residents and gained knowledge about the physical, emotional, and social aspects of caring for older adults. The experience helped students understand the importance of empathy, communication, and holistic care in geriatric nursing.

The visit provided valuable practical learning opportunities and encouraged students to develop compassion, respect, and responsibility towards elderly individuals while strengthening their professional nursing skills.

The Annual Day Celebration was conducted on 9 January 2025 at the campus of Vignesh Nursing College, Thiruvannamalai to celebrate the achievements and talents of students throughout the academic year. The programme began with the distribution of prizes to students who excelled in academics, various competitions, and the best rank holders of the VNC Garden.

The celebration was filled with vibrant cultural performances, enthusiastic participation, and energetic presentations by students. Nearly 200 students of Vignesh Nursing College were recognized for their achievements in various competitions, including solo and group dance, on-spot dance, solo and group singing, floor decoration, rangoli design, mehendi competition, skit, mime show, essay writing, elocution, and poster presentations.

The event showcased the creativity, confidence, and talents of the students through colourful performances and meaningful presentations, including spiritual-themed skits. The celebration concluded with a grand dinner, making the Annual Day a memorable and successful occasion for students and faculty members.

Anti-Leprosy Day was observed on 29 January 2025 at the Government Tiruvannamalai Medical College and Hospital, Tiruvannamalai to create awareness about leprosy, its treatment, and the importance of early diagnosis. The programme was organized by the students of B.Sc. Nursing III Semester with the aim of educating the public about leprosy prevention and management.

The students created awareness among the community through an informative skit highlighting the causes, treatment, and care of individuals affected by leprosy. The activity helped to reduce misconceptions and encouraged people to seek timely medical care.

The programme concluded with the distribution of awareness pamphlets and providing health education to the public regarding leprosy prevention, treatment availability, and the importance of maintaining a supportive approach towards affected individuals.

Cervical Health Awareness Month was observed on 31 January 2025 at Kaattampoondi to create awareness among villagers about the importance of cervical health, prevention, and early detection. The programme was conducted by the students of B.Sc. Nursing V Semester with the aim of promoting better understanding of cervical health among the community.

The students conducted various awareness activities, including skits, poster presentations, and health education sessions, to explain the importance of cervical health promotion and preventive measures. The programme focused on educating the public about primary, secondary, and tertiary levels of cervical health care.

World Cancer Day was observed on 4 February 2025 at the Government Tiruvannamalai Medical College and Hospital, Tiruvannamalai to create awareness among the public about cancer prevention, early diagnosis, and effective management. The programme was conducted by the B.Sc. Nursing III Semester students as part of cancer awareness activities.

The students organized an awareness rally to educate the general public about cancer and its impact on health. The awareness campaign continued through poster presentations highlighting different types of cancer, causes, signs and symptoms, treatment options, and preventive measures.

National Toothache Day was observed on 9 February 2025 at Kaattampoondi Village to create awareness about the importance of maintaining proper oral hygiene and preventing tooth-related problems. The programme aimed to enhance community knowledge regarding the causes of toothache, preventive measures, and the importance of early care.

The B.Sc. Nursing V Semester students conducted an informative skit depicting a child experiencing toothache and the preventive measures taken by parents to avoid further dental problems. The activity helped villagers understand the significance of oral health practices and timely dental care.

The Campus Placement Drive was conducted on 12 February 2025 at the Vignesh Nursing College Auditorium to provide career opportunities and professional guidance to nursing students. Healthy Lifestyle Awareness programme was conducted on 15 February 2025 at Kaattampoondi Primary School to highlight the importance of maintaining a healthy lifestyle for overall well-being. The programme was organized by the students of B.Sc. Nursing V Semester to educate students and the community about healthy habits and preventive healthcare practices.

The students created awareness through informative poster presentations and skits that highlighted various aspects of a healthy lifestyle, including the importance of balanced habits, personal care, and preventive measures for maintaining good health.

The programme was conducted by the B.Sc. Nursing III Semester students educate the public about obesity prevention and healthy lifestyle practices.

World Glaucoma Day was observed on 6 March 2025 at the Government Tiruvannamalai Medical College and Hospital, Tiruvannamalai to create awareness about glaucoma, its prevention, and the importance of protecting eye health. The programme was conducted by the B.Sc. Nursing III Semester students to educate the public about this vision-threatening condition.

The students created awareness among visitors near the Eye Outpatient Department by presenting informative posters and providing health education regarding the causes, risk factors, early detection, and preventive measures of glaucoma. The session emphasized the importance of regular eye check-ups and timely medical attention.

International Women’s Day was celebrated on 8 March 2025 at the Vignesh Nursing College Auditorium to recognize and appreciate the strength, courage, and contributions of women in society. The programme was organized by the B.Sc. Nursing IV Year students to honour women who inspire, lead, and overcome challenges with determination and compassion.

The students prepared creative and impactful posters highlighting the achievements, resilience, and empowerment of women. The awareness activity paid tribute to women who dream beyond boundaries, break barriers, and contribute positively to the world through their dedication and courage.

World Tuberculosis Day was observed on 24 March 2025 at Vignesh Nursing College to create awareness about tuberculosis prevention, causes, and effective management. The programme was conducted by the B.Sc. Nursing III Semester students with the aim of educating students and the community about TB control and prevention.

The students prepared informative awareness posters and conducted a stair story activity highlighting important aspects of tuberculosis, including its causes, preventive measures, and management strategies. These activities helped spread knowledge about early detection and the importance of timely treatment.

The students also presented awareness posters at the Government Tiruvannamalai Medical College and Hospital, Tiruvannamalai, creating awareness among patients and visitors about tuberculosis prevention and care. The programme was conducted by the B.Sc. Nursing IV Year students to spread awareness about autism and inclusive healthcare practices.

World Liver Day was observed on 19 April 2025 at Vignesh Nursing College to create awareness about the importance of liver health and the role of healthy nutrition in maintaining proper liver function. The programme was conducted by the B.Sc. Nursing IV Year students to educate students about preventive healthcare practices for a healthy liver.

The students actively participated in preparing healthy dishes and juices beneficial for liver health. They also showcased their creativity through rangoli and poster presentations highlighting the do’s and don’ts for maintaining a healthy liver and explained the importance of dietary habits to fellow nursing students.

As a part of recreational activities, the B.Sc. Nursing Final Year students went on an educational and leisure tour to Karnataka on 24 April 2025. The three-day tour was organized to provide students with relaxation, refreshment, and an opportunity to create memorable experiences with their classmates

During the tour, students visited various tourist destinations including Wonderla, Chamundeshwari Temple, and several beautiful tourist spots in Coorg. The trip provided students with a chance to explore new places, enjoy cultural experiences, and strengthen their bonds through shared moments.

The tour created lasting memories and offered a refreshing break from academic responsibilities, promoting friendship, teamwork, and overall student well-being. It was a memorable experience for the final-year students of Vignesh Nursing College.

World Malaria Day was observed on 25 April 2025 at Vignesh Nursing College to create awareness about malaria prevention, early identification, and effective management. The programme was conducted by the B.Sc. Nursing IV Year students educate students about the importance of malaria control and preventive healthcare practices.

The students presented a stair story activity highlighting malaria prevention methods, causes, and management strategies. They also conducted informative poster presentations to spread awareness about mosquito control measures, early treatment, and ways to reduce the risk of malaria transmission.

International Midwives Day was celebrated on 3 May 2025 at Sri Gokulam College of Nursing to recognize the vital role of midwives in maternal and newborn healthcare. The programme aimed to enhance awareness about the responsibilities, challenges, and contributions of midwives in providing quality care during critical situations.

As part of the celebration, a brainstorming quiz competition was conducted for students across the regional zone. Students from Vignesh Nursing College B.Sc. Nursing IV Year actively participated in the competition, gaining valuable knowledge about midwifery practices, challenges faced by midwives, and their essential role in healthcare.

The programme provided an excellent learning opportunity for nursing students and encouraged them to appreciate the dedication, skills, and commitment of midwives in promoting safe motherhood and improving maternal health outcomes.

World Schizophrenia Day was observed on 24 May 2025 at Vignesh Nursing College to create awareness about schizophrenia, its management, rehabilitation, and the importance of reducing stigma associated with mental health conditions. The programme was organized by the B.Sc. Nursing V Semester students to promote better understanding and support for individuals affected by schizophrenia.

Blood Donation Day was observed on 14 June 2025 at the Government Tiruvannamalai Medical College and Hospital, Tiruvannamalai to create awareness about the importance of blood donation and its life-saving impact on society. The programme was organized by the 1st Year Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing students from Vignesh Nursing College.
